History
Bill Griffith is one of our country's most experienced
craftsman, specializing in refinishing &
upholstering. Having started learning the trade in 1951 in a
family owned business in California, he not only learned
upholstering but also the restoration and
repair of woods. He and his
family moved to Texas in 1978 and has been established in
the North Houston area giving quality service to all his
Houstonian customers for over 25 years now. He still works
with his family. His daughter, Darla, helps her dad with the
business; and son, Dan runs a custom cabinetry shop right
next door.
Griffith
Refinishing was established in 1955 founded by Bill Griffith
who learned the trade from his father. Refinishing,
repairing furniture, & upholstering are his specialties. Darla, his daughter
works at the company; she specializes in the artistic side
of restoration such as touching up paintings, working on
frames, and sculptures.

Experience Bill has the honor
of having two pieces he refinished on display in the
White House; and while in California, he restored
the Governor's desk used by Ronald Reagan, for the
state capital. Bill has also done for the Catholic
Diocese of Galveston for many years... restoring not
only beautiful antique furniture but several
priceless oil paintings. He has worked with
numerous high profile decorators in his many years
in the trade and understands what they want to
accomplish.

We put our time and care into every piece we work
on. Everything refinished is done so by hand;
the stripping of the old finish, the rubbing
of the new finish, even when spraying the lacquer.
Everything is quality controlled. From upholstery
to pianos,
sculptures,
frames, antique sewing machines,
clocks, and every other piece of furniture
or decoration you can think of; we treat
every piece as our own. It's been a tradition here
